An alpha widow is a girl who never gets over the alpha male who had sex with her but did not marry her. In many cases, she does not understand that her sexual marketplace value was high enough for him to want to have sex with her, but not high enough for him to want to marry her. This causes her to mistakenly think that she is settling for less than she could have by marrying a beta guy.[1]
