Rhine-Main-Danube waterway
The Rhine-Main-Danube Waterway (also known as the European Canal) is a 3,500 km long corridor for river transport on the Rhine[wp], Main[wp], and Danube[wp] rivers. The Rotterdam[wp]-Constanța[wp] shipping route is the shortest navigable connection between the North Sea[wp] and the Black Sea[wp] and provides access to inland ports in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
The waterway comprises sections on the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers, as well as the Rhine–Main–Danube Canal[wp] and the Danube–Black Sea Canal[wp].
