Slave training, in BDSM, is the training of the submissive by the dominant partner in a Master/slave relationship. Helping the submissive fulfil their role as a long-term 'slave' and enjoy the relationship they have agreed to is the main point of slave training.

In BDSM terminology, a 'slave' is more than just a submissive. There is a lot of room for individual definitions of the role of the 'slave', such as sex slave or service slave. In some concepts such as Total Power Exchange (TPE), the 'slave' has very little rights. While in D/s relationships, the submissive can often use their safeword to stop a scene, a 'slave' may not have that luxury.

Part of slave training is obedience training[saw]. Slave positions[saw] can also be part of it.

Slave training will usually involve instruction[saw], correction[saw], reward[saw] and punishment.

In real life

Slave training is a learning process for both dominant and submissive and is a process that can take longer than a few weeks. It takes place within the consensual agreement of the partners. This will often involve the dom caring for, pleasing and respecting the boundaries of the sub at all times.

In media

Slave training is also a subject found in BDSM art[saw], stories[saw], magazines[saw] and videos[saw].

Related

Related are also forms of training that do not use the word 'slave', such as pony training or doggie training[saw]; these focus on specific forms of human animal roleplay. Also related is the training of a spankee[saw] in spankophile[saw] relationships, which can be quite different from BDSM slave training. See spankee training[saw] for more.
