Bottom (or sub, abbreviated from Submission) is called within the terminology used in the BDSM culture the person who occupies the most dominant role, often active for the duration of a game scene (session) or within a relationship. The other person is called top. Both bottom and top can be men or women; The term indicates only the selected paper. People who practice this type of games, but do not look at one of the two roles, is called switch.
The difference between bottom, sub and slave is the degree of submission.
