Phyllis Schlafly (1924-2016) was a prominent author and conservative activist, and founder of the Eagle Forum. Phyllis Schlafly is often called the conservatives' "first lady".
She was especially noted as one of the leaders of opposition to the Equal Rights Amendment[wp], and to feminism, in general.
She was married to John Fred Schlafly, Jr. for forty-four years until his death (1909-1993), and is the mother of six children: John, Bruce, Roger, Liza, Anne, and Conservapedia founder Andrew Schlafly[cp].
